OSU Master Gardener™ Program – Central Oregon
The OSU Master Gardener™ Program is entering its 45th year serving Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson Counties. This volunteer training program has trained hundreds of people who, in turn, have helped thousands in our community.

Program Overview
Who: Anyone interested in gardening and sharing research-based information.
Commitment: Complete training + volunteer service.
Certification Requirements:
Part 1 – Classroom Training: 48 hours (8 weeks, hybrid format).
Location: OSU/Deschutes County Extension Service, Redmond.
Dates: Wednesdays, Jan 21 – Apr 1, 2026 (no class Feb 25, Mar 25).
Part 2 – Experiential Learning: 48 volunteer hours in plant clinics and/or community outreach.

What We Do
Volunteer Opportunities
Plant Clinics – Answer gardening questions (Apr–Oct).
Demonstration Gardens – Redmond & Bend (required: 3 hrs in Redmond).
Community Gardens – Help with garden prep, sign-ups, cleanup.
Educational Seminars & Speakers Bureau – Teach and assist with events.
Garden Tour & Mobile Clinics – Outreach and education in the community.
