Requirements and Expectations:
• Ages: 16+ (<18 needs parent/guardian approval)
• Experience Needed: none
• Minimum time commitment: Each PRAx Ambassador will be expected to attend a minimum of two shifts per term during the OSU academic year (September-June) while they are active at PRAx.
• Background Checks: All PRAx Ambassadors will undergo a Sex Offender Registry Check.
• Training: For Usher and Greeter shifts, volunteers must undergo PRAx-provided customer service and building training.
• Returning Volunteer Training: All volunteers must undergo an annual refresher course to stay up to date on PRAx best policies and practices.
Duties:
PRAx Ambassadors are ambassadors for the arts and humanities at Oregon State University. In support of the PRAx mission, PRAx Ambassadors will:
• Represent PRAx at a variety of events and engagements
• Greet PRAx patrons as they enter PRAx
• Act as ushers at PRAx performances, guiding patrons to their seats, supporting wayfinding, and answering questions
• Monitor doors for PRAx events as they happen
• Provide high-quality customer service
• Spread knowledge of the work PRAx is doing in the arts throughout the community through distributing flyers, supporting tabling, or representing PRAx (as assigned by the Volunteer Program Manager) at community events
