As a Public Outreach Volunteer, you will learn about the exhibits on display in the Hatfield Marine Science Visitor Center. These include tidepool and aquatic animals and marine research exhibits. While working with the Visitor Center staff, you will help to create a welcoming learning environment for visitors of all ages.
This volunteer position requires interacting with the general public, answering visitor questions, standing or sitting for multiple hours, wearing closed toed shoes and standard OSU volunteer uniform (t-shirt or vest) and name badge, assisting with exhibit interpretation, and helping with organizing resource materials.
Volunteers receive trainings, routine meetings and research seminars, and additional educational opportunities.
All volunteers must pass Registered Sex Offender Check.
